In September Dylan and I went to Lake Powell with our family and friends! We had a blast! I love my kids, but it is so nice to spend some time with just Dylan every once in a while. We can actually have conversations that don't get interrupted! But we definitely missed the kids by the end of the weekend!
Melanee and Randy came with us this time and we had so much fun-other than the longest car ride of our lives!! All of my brothers and sisters(except for Koby and Mandy-We missed you!) were there and my cute mom and dad! We wake boarded a lot, tubed, played football on the wave runners(which I am no good at, but Dylan is!), cliff jumped, did some sightseeing and then wake boarded some more! We were exhausted at the end of every day! It was great! Lake Powell is a beautiful place! Thanks Chad and Amanda for being great hosts and letting us come! Chad, I promise I am working on my spirituality so that we will be invited next year!!
I am backtracking a few weeks, sorry!! Dylan's Dad and his wife Andrea bought a cabin this last year and it is so much fun! We went to the cabin a few weeks ago to spend time with the family and the kids went fishing!! They loved every minute of it. Uncle Mike took the boys and Brianna to the lake first and then we all decided to see how they were doing. They each took a turn reeling in a fish and they were not afraid to touch them at all! Yuck! The kids love their cousins and they always have so much fun together!
Nathan started preschool, or as he would say "pre- kindergarten," the day after the girls started kindergarten! He was so excited and such a big boy!! He did awesome the first day, but the next couple of days were pretty rough! I think he realized that he was by himself and not with the girls and he had a rough time dealing with being apart from his sisters. I felt horrible leaving him at preschool when he was crying, because as some of you know Nathan doesn't just cry he has a temper! But we got through it and thanks to a little bribery(great mom huh?)he is doing great. We made a chart and Nate gets to put a sticker on it when he gets home if he didn't cry. When he gets 10 stickers he gets the new Batman Lego game for the computer. Expensive bribery, but hey it is working! Now he is so proud of himself when I go pick him up. He is the teacher's helper and he always tells me how he is a good friend to all the littler kids. I love him so much and I am so proud of him for being brave!
I can't believe my little babies are now in kindergarten!! Brianna and Brooklyn started school last week and they were so cute. They are both so excited that they actually get to do homework like the big kids. We will see how long that feeling lasts!! The girls are in the same afternoon class and they love their teacher and classmates.
The first day of school was emotional for mom though! I thought I was going to cry because they acted so big, but they were excited so I had to be happy for them! Now every morning they wake up excited to go to school, and they have a hard time waiting for it to finally be the afternoon. My little girls are growing up so fast. It is hard to believe that 5 years ago we were praying that they would grow quickly in the NICU and now Dylan and I would like time to slow down. I am so proud of my two big kindergartners!! I love you Brianna and Brooklyn!
I am apologizing now to everyone who has been checking our blog page that has not been updated since April!! I am really going to do better! I now have three hours of free time while my cute kids are at school, so hopefully I can do this blog thing a little better. My cute sister in law, Amanda, made our blog page for us and I have not done well at keeping it updated, so we will give it a try!!
We just took the girls to Katie (Absolute Bliss Photography) to have their 5 year old pictures taken. They turned out so cute and I can't believe how fast they are growing up.
